Commercial Retail..slump

Commercial retail leasing is something I actually enjoy very much. I have a natural talent for placing buisnesses in the right places and at the right rents to sustain market shifts.

I use my innate talent and ability to feel the community and get a sense of who/what/where/when/why and how much. 

I have seen so many stores open and close. I must confess tho, I am an inventor at heart, I wake up daily with new ideas, sometimes even a decade too soon. This is why I believe I am so fantastic at feeling out space. I love to work with entrepreneurs and help them find the right fit for their idea or product. Having placed many people into commercial spaces, wathcing them prosper makes me happy.

When I moved to Greenwood, I said to my husband in 2011, this area needs a great Italian Salumeria, a Great Wine Shop, A Pharmacy, A Bakery and some great restaurants .. well low and behold the only thing not here yet is the pharmacy and I do not know why. .. there is such a need for a walgreens, or Rite-Aid or even a mom and pop place that can sell an array of items .. its an M1 zone so it is certainly capable of handling one.

Anyway Real Estate - commercial retail leasing is at an all time low - partly due to the HUGE players in the online world, it has made it very challenging for retailers to stay on the street so to speak.

I prefer to shop in a shop, I like to still touch the clothes (and food) that I buy.

I love to fill gaps in neighborhoods and commercial retail leasing is something I hold dear to my heart.

In a small nabe like Carroll Gardens, the landlords need to realize its always better to have life in your shop than remain vacant. 

I dislike walking down Smith/Court Streets and seeing so many empty shops, where once lived a dream, an idea a vision .. gone due to rent. 

Since I am such a dreamer, such a visionary and intuitive person it gets me in the gut. 

Had they just enlisted the help of a professional to negotiate the lease or re-negotiate the lease perhaps they would still be there. 

It's worth the shot US we love to negotiate and we can at least direct you .. and guide you. 

Afterall you would call stock broker - wouldnt you for advice ?
